The Para Athletic League is preparing for its second year. It wants to reach out to other clubs.

After a successful first year of the Para Moravia Cup athletics league, the its organizer Emilova sportovní, z.s. plans for 2023.

A total of five teams participated in the first year of the Para Athletics League athletics clubs. They organized in Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc, Zlín and Banská Bystrica competitions in throwing disciplines for a total of equal hundred athletes. The sanctioned competitions of the league also involved foreign athletes from Slovakia, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Morocco, Croatia and Hungary. A total of 129 medals were distributed, 20 special medals for the best athletes of the event and 4 awards for the best athletes of the league. A total of 9 national records were broken.

„I'm glad that the first year of the test league passed. After its evaluation, we are continuing preparations for the next one, even in its Pavel Zbožínek, the director of the first year of the league, comments, who is also the chairman of the organizing association Emil's Sports and adds: "While evaluating this season, we were not with all completely satisfied with everything, but I believe that the new structure and the setting of the rules will help us eliminate these shortcomings and ensure further successful We will continue to develop this competition in the future.“

Emil's Sports has appointed an executive committee of the league, of which the chairman is Pavel Zbožínek, the sports director Aneta Inochovská, the trio of the committee is completed by Paralympian Aleš Kisý. The new director of the athletic league Vojtěch Kocůrek became the new director of Para Moravia Cup.

And it was the sporting director who revealed the sporting plans for the year 2023: „The competition has so far been designed for athletes in the throwing disciplines, for both sitting and standing. In the new year, we will be we're going to expand the league to include running events, which will bring even more athletes.“

„In early November, we will approach other clubs with an offer to participate in our league. By the end of the year, we will evaluate the interest and the confirmed candidates we will send out the league rules and sign a contract with them for 2023," adds Vojtěch Kocůrek, the league director, and continues: "Our goal is to expand the league next year from the current five to at least eight meetings.“

The new athletics league is held under the auspices of the Czech Association of Physical disabled athletes and each of the participating clubs is committed to to organize one athletics league round. This will be counted according to the worldwide conversion system (World Para Athletics Poinst Scores for field events 2022). The organisers will seek to sanction events to the IPC World Rankings.

The aim of the league is to improve the quality of athletic competitions and the development of para athletics, including recruiting new athletes and establishing cooperation in the field of promotion and education.
